Just before 17:00 last evening Wildland Firefighters from 49 as well as the rest of the Piney Mt

South Newton Township Volunteer Fire Company 49, April 14

Strike Team were requested to respond to assist DCNR with the Mt. fire in Greene Township, Franklin County. Crews accessed off Ridge Road and worked for about 5 hours. Company 49 sent 8 people and the team as a whole had around 25 Volunteers. A shout out to Shippensburg Papa John's Pizza for making 18 pizzas in short fashion to feed the crews on the mountain.... Weekend Mountain Fire in Franklin County kept our Wildland Firefighters Busy

South Newton Township Volunteer Fire Company 49, April 12

Saturday and Sunday Company 49 Wildland Firefighters were busy assisting Fayetteville Fire Department with a Mountain Fire in Greene Township on Knob Hill Road. Company 49 is part of 2 Wildland Strike Teams that respond to assist DCNR with Wildland fires.
